Whilst some of the sports are region controlled some of the Arabic football we have viewed streams ok in the UK and a lot of it is also broadcast in English. We have recently received a promotional email from Al Jazeera stating that commentary is in English but on inspection it appearred to be in Arabic (Fiorentina v AC Milan).
Whilst we also expected the site to be restricted to the Middle East but we were able to watch the match on the main page from the UK. On further inspection other matches we selected were blocked in our region. We suspect that the Premier League football streaming is restricted to those viewer in the Middle East region due to the strict licencing in place.
Another plus point of the Al Jazeera site is that they also stream the sports to their Al Jazeera Sports ipad app. Unfortunately we were unable to try this out as it was in Arabic.
