Legal Premier League Streaming from FoxSoccer.tv

FoxSoccer.tv offering legal English Premier League streaming in the USWith the majority of online Premier League streaming coming from illegal sites it is good to see a site bucking the trend.  Foxsoccer.tv, available in the US only unfortunately, offers official legal streaming of all Premier League football matches.

The Fox soccer website offers live action from football leagues around the world including the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League games, Serie A and live rugby.

The US based Fox Soccer Channel launched FoxSoccer.TV at the start of the 2010-11 English Premier League season and will continue in 2011-12 and aims to be the main destination of choice for English Premier League (or EPL to our US readers) matches.  The site will also be of interest to UK based fans who are trying to watch the Saturday 3pm kick off or midweek matches not shown on Sky Sports or EPSN.

Fox Soccer Channel also offers an impressive range of apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android.
Fox is advertising monthly and annual pass options (pay directly on FoxSoccer.tv). The monthly subscription is $19.99 (Around £12.50), while the annual subscription is $169.99 (£106), a saving of $69.89 compared to the monthly option.  FoxSoccer.TV is Windows and Mac compatible and features HD high-quality Flash stream video.

Even though the FoxSoccer.tv website is only available to US customers there are ways around the geographic restriction through the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN).  A VPN service/connection allows allow international users to access the internet with a USA based IP getting around the geographic checks made by the FoxSoccer.tv website.

VPN services are available from a range of providers and prices vary depending on what country you require access to.  It is common for people to use UK based VPN services in order to access content like Doctor Who and Top Gear through the BBC iPlayer site or the Simpsons, Boardwalk Empire, House or Dexter on Hulu or Netflix.

There are a range of providers offering paid for access to a US based VPN connections.  So far we have only tried a number of free US VPN services and whilst they allowed us to access the sites they didn’t have the bandwidth to stream video (due to them being free accounts).  Prices for a US VPN service start at around £10-20 per month or £100 per year.

A combination of a FoxSoccer.tv subscription and an subscription to a US VPN service looks an attractive option when compared to the cost of a UK Sky Sports subscription.  Despite not being officially available in the UK it is an attractive option and unlike the unreliable illegal streams performance is likely to be much better!
